Once Upon a Llama

Adam, 9, New York, NY

Once upon a time there was a llama tribe called the Llamalanders.

They were a very peaceful tribe of llamas who lived in a brilliant land where the only animals were llamas, llamas, and… can you guess? Llamas! Bet you weren’t expecting that!!

But far, far away lived an angry tribe of donkeys. They wanted to invade Llamaland and take it for themselves. They got together lots of donkeys and marched to Llamaland.

When they got there, there was a wall around Llamaland. They asked to be let in, and the llamas said they couldn’t until they were trusted and had to camp outside.

In the middle of the night a donkey snuck out of camp with another donkey and started a conversation in the middle of the night.

“Do you think we should invade it yet?” asked one.

“Patience, Donkeyrama,” said the other one. “We destroy later. We enjoy now.”

“But still, Slodonkey, then we will have it for longer,” said Donkeyrama.

“WE WILL HAVE IT FOREVER!!” said Slodonkey. And they walked away.

But one llama, Lazy, had heard it all!! He rushed back to Llamaland and woke the llamas up. He told them about the conversation. They sent out a llama spy to make sure.

One hour later the llama returned and told them it was true. So they rushed to the gates and started shooting llamarrows at the donkeys. Meanwhile, the donkeys woke up to the sound of llamarrows pettering their tents.

All the donkey warriors rushed into the battle. The donkarrows and llamarrows kept shooting into the air. Unfortunately, the donkeys had more forces and it seemed like they were winning.

On the side of the combat, Lazy the llama was fighting Drowzy the donkey. They were fighting with swords, but suddenly Lazy’s sword got blasted away and he started fighting with a stolen donkagger.

But then they both fell asleep, true to their names. But then suddenly a llama in the middle turned into a ghost and yelled “GYYYAAAAARRRRRRRARRRRRGGGGGGG!”

Then all the donkeys ran away and were never seen again.
