I was just about to start my math homework when I thought about putting some comfortable clothes on just so I could do my homework without having to itch my neck and move my collar every 5 seconds!
I got on a plain red T-shirt and some black leggings. I was about to close my drawer, but my hand suddenly got stuck! I tried pulling my hand out, but it wouldn't work! I gave in and stopped pulling, but that was a huge mistake because I got sucked right into my drawer!
I looked around and I was in a neon green place and I was floating! I saw a portal down below and I figured that it was the way home. I plunged down and into the portal. But instead of coming home, I transformed. I now looked like a cartoon of myself!
I landed with a thud and I seemed to be in a different world! It looked as though it should have been a huge place, but it was quite small. Everything you could have wanted was squeezed into this little place. But why was I here and how did I get here?
I know I came through the portal in my drawer, but there had never been a portal! Maybe someone sent me here!
“Hello Ava!” someone called. It was an ice cream cone on a floating plate. “My name is Celia and I am your guide to succeeding!”
“Succeeding at what?” I asked.
“This world! It is in danger. You must stop it. There is something called Caramel Bug that is making everything stick together, and when things stick together, we can’t play,” Celia explained.
“Wait, play what? Am I in a game?” I asked.
“Yes, you are in 7 Dancers, a game where 7 players dance and the last one standing wins!” said Celia.
“Wow, so cool!” I exclaimed.
“Yes, but about half the kids in the world play 7 Dancers and they are quite upset because the Caramel Bug is messing up their game!” Celia explained.
“Oh, that’s awful, how do I stop the bug?” I asked.
“The only way to stop the bug is to win against the other 6 dancers in 4 levels,” said Celia.
“Game on,” I said confidently.
“Ally enters the game!” the announcer said. “Cora, Lee, Mario, Kate, Jake and Ava enter the game!”
“Oh, look guys, a newbie,” Cora laughed.
“Let’s see her skills,” Jake said.
“Take your marks, get set, DANCE!” the announcer yelled.
I started dancing, but after 20 minutes I wanted to quit. I couldn’t quit, though. I had to win!
Ally, Mario and Kate were attacked by the bug after 40 minutes and Cora was down after an hour. It left me, Lee and Jake. An hour and a half passed by before Lee was covered in caramel, so it left Jake and me. It felt like centuries before Jake fell. Celia said it had been 3 hours!
I had won the first level, thank goodness, but I needed to win 3 more to stop the Caramel Bug. I entered the second round when the announcer said, “Ann enters the game! Bella, Miles, Liam, Joy, Carly and Ava enter the game.”
This round wasn’t easy at all. It took 2 hours before Bella and Joy fell! That meant 4 more to beat! Somewhere around 4 and a half hours Carly and Liam got sticky in caramel! I just needed to beat Miles and Ann. It felt like days went by, but Celia said it had been six hours. After that Miles and Ann fell. I had won the game! But could I win the next one? I needed somewhere to sleep first. I guess I’ll finish tomorrow.
To be continued…
