Why I Love the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

-Spoilers!-

I like Harry Potter for many reasons.

One reason is that it has very interesting and complex characters. Let's talk about Draco Malfoy. He is one of my favorite characters because he is so complex. He feels pressured by his parents to become a death eater and kill Albus Dumbledore when really, he was not a killer. Sure, he was a bully, but he didn't have it in him to end someone's life. He didn’t have the passion of torturing and inflicting pain in someone like Bellatrix and Voldemort did.

Another reason I like Harry Potter is because of the actual plot. It's not as simple as there was a Dark Lord, Voldemort, who killed everyone on his way to power, and a boy named Harry who was destined to defeat him. No. That's the simple version without the fact that Voldemort's immortal and has horcruxes or that Harry pretends to be dead when Voldemort supposedly killed him, when in fact he had only killed the horcrux inside him. Not to mention that Snape was a double agent. There are just so many twists and turns that make the plot better.

And the third reason I like Harry Potter is because of all the life lessons within it. Like when Dumbledore said, “Happiness can be found in even the darkest of places.” This is so true, especially in the Harry Potter world. Even though there is tons of loss and sadness, there is still so much friendship and kindness. Some other life lessons include messages about friendship, bravery, kindness, bullies, love, happiness and so much more.

Overall, I love the Harry Potter series for many reasons. Even if it's not for the same reasons, millions of other people love Harry Potter, too, so thank you, J.K. Rowling! :)
